Description
Summary

The Greenland Sea Project (GSP) was aimed at observing and modelling the atmospheric, ice, oceanic and biological processes relevant to understanding the role of the Nordic Seas in the climate system. The project was developed and coordinated under the auspices of the Arctic Ocean Sciences Board (AOSB) and was co-sponsored by ICES. It was carried out by national surveys, which resulted in new data sets that cover spatial scales from event via season to several years. The GSP was in operation from 1987-1993 and has been superseded by European SubPolar Ocean Programme (ESOP).
