Description
Summary

Months: seasonal surveys (February, May, August, October) Depth: total depth - 0-100 m or 0-bottom (when depth is less than 100 m); layers - changeable by periods. Data processing: the total sample is diluted, mixed and two subsamples are taken and treated under a binocular microscope, determining all the specimens in the subsample. The size of the subsample depends on the abundance of zooplankton in the sample. The mean value of two subsamples is used to calculate the total number of specimens in 1 m3. The number of the rearest and the biggest species is determined in the whole sample. For Copepoda species 7 stages of development are determined, for other zooplankton species only the total number is determined.
