Description 
Summary

This study was conducted under the framework of cooperation between Morocco Kingdom, and the Russian federation. The main objective of this investigation is to assess the status of the pelagic ecosystem and biological resources of the Moroccan coastal Atlantic waters, through the following points: -Water dynamics and upwelling intensity -Primary production and Chlorophyll 'a' analysis. -Zooplankton and phytoplankton distribution. This cruise was held between 11.07.1997 and 26.07.1997, which covers the winter season, onboard of the Russian research vessel 'AtlantNIRO'. 95 hydrographic stations were sampled, distributed among 18 transects (perpendicular to the coast). The transects are spaced by 30 miles. Water samples were collected from different levels (0m to 1000m), depending on the maximum station depth.
