Description
Summary

The main objective of this investigation is to assess the status of the pelagic ecosystem and biological resources of the Moroccan coastal Atlantic waters, through the following points: - Water dynamics and upwelling intensity - Chlorophyll 'a' analysis. - Zooplankton, Phytoplankton and Ichtyoplankton distribution. This cruise was held between 07.07.2004 and 30.07.2004, which covers the winter season, on board of the Russian research vessel 'Atlantida'. 91 hydrographic stations were sampled, distributed among 28 transects (perpendicular to the coast). The transects are spaced by 30 miles. Water samples were collected from different levels (0m to 1000m), depending on the maximum station depth.
