Description 
Summary

A number of shores around the British Isles have been investigated, some visited regularly. Records, notes, herbarium specimens of brown algae are maintained. Literature records are studied. Life history studies are undertaken in culture rooms. All information, contributions of the Fucophyceae (brown algae) volume of the series 'Seaweeds of the British Isles' is published by the Natural History Museum.
