The data base includes vertical profiles and horizontal continuous records of bioluminescence, chlorophyll a, zooplankton, and CTDs obtained by the Former Soviet Union (FSU) expeditions to the World's ocean during the 30 years in the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Antarctic Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea basin. Includes 2377 soundings of bioluminescence, 10000 measurements of the acoustic profiles and 1137 samples of phyto- and zooplankton. Database was created with the partly financial support of ONR-grant. The database on the bioluminescence field of the Worlds Ocean (ONR grant 00014-99-1-1025) Database was developed based on OceanBase database management system, developed in MHI (Marine Hydrophysical Institute, Sevastopol, Ukraine) The data are fully quality controlled.
