Database contains data and information on point land-based pollution sources on the coastal zone of the Black and Azov Seas. The database was developed in order to define pollution sources having the greatest negative impact on marine water quality and coastal-marine ecosystem. The database contains data on pollutants inputs with waste water discharge from municipal waste water treatment units, industrial enterprises, agriculture. Data in the database corresponds to the data from statistical form 2-TP(Vodkhoz). The database on pollution sources contains the following: name of source (enterprise), coordinates, annual waste water flow (thousand m3 per year), annual pollutants discharge (tonnes per year), treatment type, design treatment capacity, discharge rank (it characterizes the level of impact on marine water quality and is calculated using special method). Database contains average annual data on pollutants discharges. Primary data were collected and presented by enterprises to Goskomvodkhoz (State Committee on Water Management). Raw primary data for the database were received from Goskomvodkhoz. Data allows to assess dynamics of pollutants discharges during 1995-2005 on separate sources/enterprises, total discharges on various Oblasts, total pollutants discharges into the coastal marine water. Excel, Arcview were used. Data and information contained in the database can be used for modelling of marine water quality in the areas of discharge points and for modelling of marine water quality of the Ukrainian part of the Black Sea and Azov Sea.
