Description
Summary

In 1981-1985, methodical studies on biological and chemical measurement standardisation were carried out in DAE IEP. On the basis of national monitoring data, collected in 1979-80 at 61 sampling sites, the degree of biological and physico-chemical similarity of the water areas was assessed. Indicator parameters significant for the monitoring were specified based on the BMP monitoring results obtained from 12 stations in 1981-83. The published results of the international intercalibrations in Stralsund (1979) and Ronne (1982) were used for estimation of the inaccuracy of the single sampling of the biological material and its determination. In order to study the twenty-four hour fluctuations of the monitored parameters in June 1982 and 1984, three days' continuous monitoring at the same station was performed. The measurements and sampling were done with 6-hour intervals in the water layer 0-20m. Measurements and analyses were done in accordance with the BMP-HELCOM guidelines. The data set in DAE IEP consists of abundance and biomass of the organisms in the samples as well as these data recalculated to 1 m**3. Results of physico-chemical measurements are in standard units and mean values, CV%, SD and correlation coefficients. It includes the results of the international intercalibrations and most of the multi-days observations. They are stored in typescript tabular and graphic form.
