| Description | |
| Summary | The main objective of the multidisciplinary research of the sea environment was to assess the biological resources and the contamination of the shallow water zone of the Puck Lagoon adjacent to the Hel Peninsula. The reason for the research was the dredging of the bottom sediments taking place at that time in order to widen the peninsula. The samples were taken in June, August and September 1991 along 5 sampling profiles. 3 sampling stations were located on each profile: 50m, 200m, 2000m from the coast. In addition, phytobenthos and zoobenthos were sampled 500m and 1000m from the sea-shore and physico-chemical analyses were done in July 1992. The water samples were taken from the near-bottom water layer. Most of the samples were taken by divers. DAE has the source data and processed results of the monitoring in the standard units, in the form of computer files. An analysis of the water current system, by means of mathematical modelling, was performed and the spawning sites of commercial fish were specified. These results are available in typescript form. Documentation also includes submarine and air photographs, and video-films from the investigation area. |
