Description
Summary

Some of the data were collected in the framework of scientific projects. Data were obtained directly from reading of the thermometers by an observer. In order to optimise the network, some of the stations have been closed and data collection has ceased. Below is a list of the time periods of the observation for every station, distinguishing existing stations and former stations. Time ranges of the data sets are in accordance with the periods, however some gaps and longer breaks may occur. Each station has its own identification number (ID) which can be used for the selection and retrieval of the data. Existing stations presently collecting the data: ID Location: Start of Operation: 1402 Gdynia 01/01/1950 1406 Gdansk-Port Polnocny 01/01/1987 0135 Hel 01/01/1950 2050 Miedzyzdroje 01/01/1950 1452 Puck 01/01/1950 1404 Swibno 02/01/1950 0295 Szczecin 01/01/1967 0200 Swinoujscie 22/05/1953 1502 Tolkmicko 01/01/1950 2002 Trzebiez 01/01/1951 1407 Wladyslawowo 01/01/1950 0100 Kolobrzeg 18/06/1946 Former stations not collecting the data at present: ID Location: Period of Observations: 1250 Mielno 02/01/1950 - 30/11/1980 0115 Ustka 01/01/1948 - 13/02/1981 1403 Gdansk Nowy Port 02/01/1951 - 30/04/1985 0120 Leba 01/01/1961 - 31/12/1971 All raw data are stored as a paper archive. Each station has its own paper archive. All data have been transferred to an electronic database on PC, except the stations listed below: Podgrodzie 01/01/1955 - 01/03/1981 Dziwnow 01/06/1954 - 31/12/1971 Ujscie Wisly 01/01/1957 - 31/03/1961 Wolin 01/01/1956 - 30/09/1971 The data from the period 1946 - 1950 are stored as a paper archive only, and are not included into the electronic database due to doubtful quality. Since 2004 water temperature is measured electronically in situ every 15 minutes at the coastal stations and data is transmitted on line to the central hydrological database. The stations are located at the following towns on the coast: Świnoujście, Kołobrzeg, Łeba, Ustka, Władysławowo, Hel, Puck, GdyniaPort Północny, Tolkmicko, Nowa Pasłęka. During summer season these data are available at the web page.
