The electronic data base includes data from 20 sites (in operation and closed). Among them are data collected occasionally in the framework of projects and data collected as routine observations. The frequency of observation is different from site to site. At most the frequency of observation is one a day (12 UTC or 6 UTC). Below is a list of periods of observation for every station, distinguishing stations collecting the data now and former locations. Time ranges of the data sets are in accordance with the periods, however some gaps and longer breaks may occur. Each station has its own identification number (ID) which can be used for the selection and retrieval of the data. Data has been quality controlled. The data collected until 1970 were published in yearbooks.
