Description
Summary

The aim of the data bank is to collect and organise coastal profile data. All measured profiles are accepted, provided that their location and direction (exact coordinates of base point and azimuth of the profile) are properly determined and related to the State Geodetical Grid. The profiles are stored, with information on their location and azimuth and date of measurements, in the form of series of pairs of numbers representing distance from base point and height with respect to reference level. Values of distance are recorded to the nearest 0.1 metre; values of height to the nearest centimetre. Data are quality controlled. Checks are made for location, direction and continuity of profiles. The remainder are echosounder records with wave effects filtered out. The data set comprises over 1300 measurements of profiles.
