Description
Summary

The aim of the data bank is to collect and organise coastal granulometric data. Samples are taken either by bottom surface samplers or by corers at characteristic points of measured cross-shore profiles. On average, there are 14-16 sampling points along each profile. Each sampling point is located in space with respect to the State Geodetical Grid. The weighed portion data are stored, with information on location of sample and date of sampling, in the form of series of pairs of numbers representing sieve number and corresponding weighed portion. The data set comprises over 6300 samples from over 450 profiles.
