Summary

This data set contains ice charts and reports made by the Finnish ice service since the establishment of FIMR in 1918. The charts were published between 1919-1950 once a week, 1950- 1992 five times a week and 1992-1996 seven times a week. Ice reports (plain language) in Finnish, Swedish and English during the ice season have been published daily starting in January 1919. Ice conditions off the Finnish harbours in special codes (vary over years, recent dates 1982) have been published since 1920. Hard copies per season 50-200 charts, ca. 130 reports and ca. 130 reports in Baltic Sea Ice Code. Since 1992 these have also been available in digital form.
