Chlorophyll pigment concentrations in water bodies; Wind strength and direction; Bacterial growth; Nitrate concentration parameters in the water column; Phosphate concentration parameters in the water column; Primary production in the water column; Salinity of the water column; Temperature of the water column; Zooplankton taxonomy-related abundance per unit volume of the water column; Dissolved inorganic carbon production and respiration in the water column; Bacteria taxonomic abundance in water bodies; Phytoplankton taxonomic abundance in water bodies; Density of the water column; Phytoplankton taxonomic biomass in water bodies

Instruments

Fluorometers; CTD; discrete water samplers; autoanalysers; liquid scintillation counters

Description
Summary

The cruise consisted of samplings at 25 fixed stations organized in a grid. Each station was visited altogether 4 times. CTD was measured at 25 stations, vertical profiles of nutrients were sampled at 15 stations 1-10 times. Biological variables were measured form an integrated sample representing the upper mixed layer at 3 stations. Water masses in the surface layer were mapped with a flow-through system measuring salinity, temperature and fluorescence.
