Description
Summary

The cruise consisted of four mesoscale surveys to obtain hydrographical background and three intensive biological-chemical study periods at an anchor station. The three surveys were carried out with towed undulating CTD/fluorometer and flow-through system and one with flow-through system. The flow-through system measured salinity, temperature, fluorescence and collected samples for nutrient and phytoplankton analyses at ca. 5 m depth. At the anchor stations measurements/samplings of turbulence, CTD, fluorescence, nutrients, phytoplankton, primary production, particle size distribution and in situ videomicroscopy were made. Special attention was paid on the upwelling event detected along the Finnish coast.
