Description
Summary

Continuous simultaneous measurements on surface salinity, temperature and in vivo fluorescence of Chl a based on flow-through approach, and carried out by FIMR of Finland. One of the three datasets has been collected in collaboration with the Norwegian partner. Data has been subjected to preliminary quality control, but in the light of current knowledge the re-examination of data for scientific purposes is recommended. The data has been collected along the ships' route, i.e., the area of study is Weddell Sea and the Southern Ocean near to the Greenwich longitude. The temporal resolution of data is 20 s, that is, 150 to 200 m in spatial dimension. No areal dimension around ship line is provided. Data is process-oriented, and thus do not serve as an appropriate basis for climate change studies.
