Description | |
Summary | The aim of the researches is to determine amounts of chlorinated pesticides in biota in the Curonian Lagoon and to evaluate year-to-year dynamic of these amounts. These investigations are important as DDT and its metabolites (DDD, DDE), HCH isomers remain for a long time not only in the environment (water, sediment) but accumulates in biota. In accordance with the national Curonian Lagoon monitoring programme complex surveys have been fulfilled with cutter 'Gintaras' one time a year. Investigations of chlorinated pesticides in biota have been carried out since 1997 in the site covered the north part of the Lagoon which belongs to the Lithuania. These toxic matters have been investigated in mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) and fish (perch Perca Fluviatilis). The data are fully quality controlled. Systematic certification of laboratories, participation in an international intercalibrations, internal contol, introduced managing system for researches' quality, use of high quality reagents determine quality of data. All data is stored in archive (in table forms on paper) and is saved on hard disk. |
