The purpose of the researches is to evaluate the contamination of water with detergents in the Curonian Lagoon and to evaluate year-to-year dynamic of these amounts. Amounts of detergents reflect water contamination with sewage discharges. In accordance with the national Curonian Lagoon monitoring programme complex surveys have been fulfilled with cutter 'Gintaras' every month. During the period 1978-1993 investigations were carried out in the whole Curonian Lagoon (data set limits: 54 54 - 55 44N; 20 37 - 21 16E). Since 1994 the researches have been carried out in north part of the Lagoon which belongs to Lithuania. The data are fully quality controlled. Systematic certification of laboratories, participation in an international intercalibrations, internal control, introduced managing system for researches' quality, use of high quality reagents determine quality of data. All data is stored in archive (written form) and is saved on hard disk.
