Description | |
Summary | The aim of the research is to evaluate suspended matters amounts in the Klaipeda Strait which connects Baltic Sea with Curonian Lagoon (transitional waters). This region is actively impacted by anthropogenic activities: shipping, harbour dredging, etc. In accordance with the national Curonian Lagoon monitoring programme, research of suspended matters has been carried out every month according to HELCOM method. Sampling has been carried out at 4-5 stations at surface and bottom layers in the Klaipeda Strait which is situated in the northernmost part of the Curonian Lagoon. The data are fully quality controlled. Systematic certification of laboratories, participation in an international intercalibrations, internal control, introduced managing system for researches' quality, use of high quality reagents determine quality of data. All data is stored in archive (in table forms on paper) and is saved on hard disk. |
