Description | |
Summary | The aim of the research is to analyse currents' regime and its peculiarities in the different parts of the Curonian Lagoon. Currents in the Lagoon are predetermined by temporally changing river runoff, wind and input of salt marine waters from the Baltic Sea. In accordance with the national Curonian Lagoon monitoring programme investigations of currents are carried every month. The research is carried out in the north part of the Lagoon which belongs to Lithuania by the expedition cutter 'Gintaras'. The data are fully quality controlled. Systematic certification of laboratories, participation in international intercalibrations, internal control, introduced managing system for research' quality determine quality of data. All data is stored in archive (written form) and the data from 1993 also is saved on hard disk. |
