| Summary | The aim of the Wintering Waterbird Monitoring programme was to survey Lithuanian coastal areas of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, to establish the species composition, abundance and distribution of wintering waterbirds, and to evaluate the state of waterbird wintering sites of international importance. Additional information, such as oiling of beached birds and the impact of coastal gillnet fisheries on wintering waterbirds has also been collected. |
