Data on hourly tidal heights and hourly irradiance at the surface compiled from published reports of the Geophysical Institute, University of Lisbon. These data span a period of one year (1987). Data on sediment characteristics including granulometry, porosity, organic matter (ash-free fry weight), depth of oxygenated layer, salinity and nutrient content of pore water. Data on chlorophyll-a content of surface sediment, vertical profiles of photosynthetic pigments within the sediment, dominant species list, primary production data. Also preliminary data on macroalgal biomass distribution and dominant species list. Some data held by the Marine Botany Group are of restricted availability awaiting final publication and/or clearance by the scientists involved in their original collection.
