Description
Summary

The aim of this project is to collect data on the carbon cycle in coastal areas in order to determine their effective role in the global oceanic carbon cycle. The experimental protocol consists of monitoring organic and inorganic carbon in the water column, together with the exchanges of carbon with the atmosphere, with the sediment, with benthic and/or pelagic ecosystems as well as by hydrodynamic processes. The project is carried out in three different European coastal zones: the Bay of Calvi, the Tamar Estuary and the Aveiro lagoon and funded by the CEC under the MAST framework.
