Description
Summary

A methodology for isolation is proposed in order to obtain enough amounts of humic materials which will allow the carrying out of studies on the mechanisms of mutagenicity in water supplies, as well as studies on the complexation and transport of organic and inorganic compounds in natural waters. The main steps leading to the isolation of humics will be as follows: membrane filtration (0.45 micron), acidification of the filtered water, elution through a poly (methylmetaurylate) resin followed by another elution through a styrene divinylbenzene polymer resin, back elution of the observed material by an alkaline solution, reconcentration desalting, protenation and freeze-drying.
