| Summary | Commercial landings of hake (from trawl, line and tangle nets) have been sampled in order to determine their composition by length. Three or more surveys a year were carried out, aiming to study distribution, abundance and biology of the main species of demersal fishes; hake catches were sampled and data on biology, ecology and behaviour were registered (catch composition by sex, length and other meristic characters, maturation stages, feeding, etc.). Experiences of selectivity of several mesh sizes, both in trawl nets and tangle nets, were also made. |
