The project comprises a study of the dynamics of toxic phytoplankton off the Portuguese coast and its relationship with physical parameters. Consequent toxicity of the living resources, with special emphasis on bivalve molluscs, has also been studied. Work has also been carried out on the management of related economic consequences and public health protection.
