The project comprised: 1) assessment of regeneration capacity of water quality in Ria Formosa and identification of critical periods of environmental conditions' degradation; 2) identification of determining factors of degradation of the aquatic environment and the study of its action on various components of the ecosystem; 3) determination of the effect of environment degradation, namely water quality and sediment quality and the concentration of contaminants in the production of bivalves.
