Description
Summary

The study of the influence of artificial fertilisation on the evolution of a natural population of Artemia was carried out over 15 months (April 86 - July 87) in part of a salt-pond at Ria Formosa (Algarve). Fertilisation was performed once a week using inorganic fertiliser (Fosfonitro 220) for 12 months, and for 3 months (December 86 - March 87) chicken manure was used as organic fertiliser. The evolution of phytoplankton, Artemia population and cysts was followed through the whole experimental period and some physico-chemical parameters were also determined.
