Description
Summary

Elvers are captured on a weekly basis in the River Liz estuary. Samples of 50 elvers are taken and the total length, weight, height and width are measured. From November 1990, 0.9 kg of elvers caught four times a year were fed into 3 tanks of 100 l. Once a month samples are taken from each tank. The older specimens (after plus or minus 2 years) are killed and sex is determined through histological preparations.
