Description
Summary

MedGLOSS project recognizing the importance of the subject for the region, as well as its capability to serve as a model for the world-wide processes, the IOC and the Commission Internationale pour l Exploration Scientifique de la mer Mediterranee (CIESM), have agreed in 1996 to jointly cooperate in the study of this important subject by establishing a long-term monitoring network system for systematic sea-level measurements in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. The system, named MedGLOSS (Mediterranean regional subsystem of the Global Sea Level Observing System), a monitoring network system for systematic measurements in the Mediterranean and Black Seas, is being developed by applying basic GLOSS requirements and methodology, aiming to provide high-quality standardized data, which can then be directly applied for the various regional and world-wide studies. Hourly recordings, stockings, transmision and archiving.
