| Summary | Data set AARI 10 - day EASE-grid sea ice total concentration for the Arctic Ocean has been created within the WMO project Global Digital Sea Ice Data Bank, which started in 1989. From 1996, the GDSIDB represented an informational structure simultaneously operated by the AARI and the NSIDC under the auspices of the WMO. Within project historical sea ice information for the major part of the 20th century was archived in electronic form due to collaborative efforts of several ice services, institutions and Data Centres (from Russian Federation, U.S.A., Japan, Sweden, Finland, Canada etc.). |
