Description 
Summary

Monitoring of invader Mnemiopsis leidyi spatial and temporal distribution of its abundance and biomass, its interaction with indigenous gelatinous species Aurelia aurita and Pleurobrachia pileus were conducted in the Black Sea in 1991-1993. Surveys were conducted in spring (April-May), late summer (August-September), autumn (November) at the same grid of stations with the leg of 20 km. Vertical hauls were performed at the stations from anoxic layer to the surface. The same type of nets and the same method of sampling were used. At least three hauls were performed at the same station and mean value was estimated. Surveys: July 1992, northeastern and northwestern areas (102 stations), August 1993, southern area (144 st.), November 1993 (12 st.).
