Description
Summary

The project was focused on disturbance of the Danube area study. The north-western part of the Black Sea is now severely depredated although it was the main area for spawning of all mass and valuable fish species until the 1970s. However during the 1970s unregulated diversion of fresh water for irrigation and power generation resulted in the decrease of river flow and changes in the hydrological regime. These events were considerable in the western part of the sea where influence of river flow such as the Danube, the Dnieper and the Dniester determines the hydrochemical regime.
