Description
Summary

The collection contains the values of the aforementioned parameters at seven stations distributed over two radials, one covering the Bay from its most inside point to the outside for a distance of 5 miles, and other located parallel to the coast for 3 miles. At each station continuous vertical profiles were carried out on the following parameters: salinity, radiation, oxygen and saturation percentage. The samples for the study of nutrients and phytoplankton were taken with hydrographic bottles along the water column at 5m intervals. The data are stored in spatial temporal series (depth-month) for each of the stations. The information relative to zooplanktonic communities, structure, composition and biomass is not contained in the collection of reference due to the fact that it has been compiled by the Spanish Institute of Oceanography and the CSIC (Inst. Of Advanced Studies), the other two institutions that participate in the project. The project was subsidised by the Autonomous Government of Balearic Island, and therefore all the information contained in the final report which we are now preparing is the property of said government. The possibility of making use of the collection of data depends on the results of the negotiations between the interested party, the Balearic Government and scientist involved in the project.
