Pollensa Bay (Mallorca, Balearic Islands)

The collection contains the values of the aforementioned parameters for six stations for the water column sampling and thirteen stations for the sediments. The sampling of the column of water was carried out on the surface and at a maximum depth (between 1.5 and 6m). The frequency of sampling was changed according the season, monthly in winter and fall, fortnightly in spring and summer and weekly in August. The main purpose of the task was the follow-up and study of the murkiness of the water. For this purpose the sampling was located at those points which were possible sources of pollution and at the same time were representative of the different environments of the Pollensa Bay. The samples of sediments were collected at the end of January with a spoon dredge. The project was sponsored by the Autonomous Government of Balearic Island.
