Between July 1985 and June 1988, eight oceanographic samplings were carried out in the Balearic sea, with a number of stations between a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 32. The samplings took place in the following periods: July 85, October 85, November 86, March 87, May 87, September 87, April 88, June 88. The collection comprises a total of 197 hydrographic and hydroplanktonic stations performed by samplings at standard depths. The work plan was structured around three types of tests: 1) floristic study, specific composition and number of cells (0 - 75 m); 2) determination of the concentration of chlorophyll-a (0 - 100 m); 3) measurement of primary production (0 - 75 m ). The last point derives from the resulting information of the relations, among themselves, of the three variables and with the remaining physical-chemical parameters.
