Description
Summary

The transportation of fish within or between fish farms is a common practice. This study purports to typify the stress caused to 'Sparus aurata' by transportation. For this purpose two groups of animals have been confronted: the first group remain stabled under conditions which are equal to those of a fish farm, while the second group is subjected to a transportation simulation. With the analysis of the already mentioned parameters we can obtain an insight into this stress. Included are data on the effects of the anaesthetics 2-phenoxyethanol and MS222 in the reduction of stress produced by transportation.
