Country | Spain |
Time period | From 1990 to 1991 |
Ongoing | No |
Geographical area | Bidasoa River estuary (west of San Sebastian, N Spain) |
Observations | |
Parameters | Sea level; Palaeoclimatic indicators and parameters |
Description | |
Summary | A collection of 110 samples of sediments obtained from 2 cores of approximately 20m of length each and performed on the sedimentary backfilling in the Bidasoa estuary. This material allows us to know the temporal variations of the associations of benthonic foraminifers during the last 8000 years as environmental changes took place within this estuary environment, mainly as a response to the variations of sea levels. |
