Description
Summary

The September 78 data belongs to 26 samples taken during the 'Plataforma I' expedition on board the R/V 'Naucrates'. The study area comprised the Rias of Muros and Arosa and the adjacent shelf (up to the 500m isobath). Oblique haulings from 60m to the surface were carried out using the 250 micron net. 20 stations correspond to the shelf and 3 to each sound. Each sample was divided into two halves, one for the study of the community and the other for the study of zooplankton biomass. In June 79, the study area was increased to the rias of Pontevedra and Vigo, as well as to the adjacent shelf. The total number of stations during the 'Plataforma II' expedition was 44, 32 on the shelf and 3 in each ria. In the course of the 'HIDROBEN II' expedition from the 24th to the 27th of April 1982, studies were carried out on the structure, biomass, element composition and production of meso (greater than 250 micron) and microzooplankton (100-250 micron) at 10 stations on the shelf, from Cape Finisterre to the south of the ria of Vigo, opposite the Rias Bajas.
