Description
Summary

The collection of plankton data covers diverse parameters obtained during the years 1978 and 1979 in the Sea of Alboran. The sampled radials comprise: Almeria, Motril, Malaga, Sabinillas and the Bay of Algeciras. Samplings were monthly or every two months at the following depths for each radial: 25, 50, 75 and 100m. Samples were obtained using Hensen 300 micron nets for vertical haulings, and Juday-Bogorov 250 micron nets for oblique haulings. Registered data are: depth, zooplankton biomass, abundance of main zooplankton species, and population features of chaetognaths. The total number of stations recorded was 163. Data are stored on hard copy (cards per season), and the samples themselves are also usable.
