Description
Summary

Moored current meter data have been collected since 1967 mainly in the eastern North Atlantic, concentrating on the areas to the north and west of Scotland, the west of Ireland and the Madeira Abyssal Plain, often in water depths of over 4000m. Over 650 individual current meter records have been collected. Earlier current meter records are often no more than 1 to 2 months in duration, but many of the later records are of between 6 months and 1 year in duration. Temperature and salinity measurements have also been made using CTDs and SeaSoar, with good quality data available from the late 1970s onwards. Data from several hundred CTD casts are available, often including dissolved oxgyen or transmittance measurements, sometimes fluorescence has also been measured.
