| Summary | Data are collected using a sampling net and information from the most important ports in the area of influence of the Oceanographic Centre of Vigo, i.e. the South of Galicia. The data were obtained from guilds, market exchange areas, port authorities and shipowners. Biological laboratory tests were carried out on growth, reproduction, size-weight ratio, etc. of those demersal species of commercial interest, especially whiff and hake. All data are saved on magnetic medium using our own programs or others which are commercially available. Data reliability is a problem we are constantly having to face. Periodic checks are carried out, but quality is never as desired. We have continuous temporal series of data belonging to fisheries practically since the late seventies, and expedition data from 1980 to 1991. Availability of this information is on request and is restricted to certain users. |
