Description
Summary

Five stages of embryo development have been described, and in the course of these stages important morphological changes take place. These changes have been quantified both from a biometrical and from a biochemical aspect. Once the eclosion of the larvae had taken place, the evolution of the embryo throughout the 5 zoea stages and the megalopa stage which completes the development of the larvae was studied. During this period, the adequate nutrition for the completion of the development of the larvae was studied until phase I was reached. In all cases (eggs and larvae) attention was paid to the effect of temperature and salinity on the survival of each period of development.
