| Summary | Drifting buoys deployed in ice floes are used to track the floe movement and to measure the forcing parameters. The results are used to parameterise the nature of the ice cover and ice motion. The experiment has concentrated mainly on the Weddell Sea but some data have been obtained from the Bellingshausen Sea and eastwards as far as 100degE. The experiment is ongoing and has recently obtained data from the Bellingshausen, Amundsen and Ross Seas. |
