| Summary | Data from 6/8 passes day of AVHRR covering NE Atlantic and W. Mediterranean regions. Data are daily processed into images of sea surface temperature SST or thermal infra-red structures that are stored in a web site and distributed to IEO researchers via email. The remote sensing information is used at IEO to analyse the seasonal and interannual variability of several oceanographic structures of physical and biological interest (eddies, upwelling filaments, slope currents, etc.) and to support IEO oceanographic cruises by processing and sending the final images in near real time. |
