Eastern Wadden Sea. The boundary between Western Wadden Sea and Eastern Wadden Sea is situated between the islands Terschelling and Ameland. The boundary between Eastern Wadden Sea and the Ems-Dollard estuary lies West from the Huibertsgat.

MON*MORFOLOGIE is part of the Monitoring programme of the National Water Systems (in Dutch: Monitoring Waterstaatkundige Toestand des Lands; MWTL). The primary goal of the MWTL programme is to provide physical, chemical and biological information in relation to long term developments. Within the physical monitoring programme a distinction is made between quantity (water level, waves, water temperature) and morphology (coastal measurements and bathymetry), which is collected within the MON*MORFOLOGIE project. The objective of MON*MORFOLOGIE is to carry out the regular coastal measurements and to control and process the resulting data. Since the beginning of the monitoring programme, data is available of several locations. Due to changes in the national monitoring programme locations can be added or removed in time. Bathymetric measurements: Measurements are interpolated to grid squares (20x20 m). The data is stored in the DONAR database. Frequency: depending on area: every year to every 6 years.
