The data set comprises the UK oceanographic contribution to the NATO MILOC survey RESOLUTE SUPPORT/PROUD RUNNER. Data collected included thermistor chain, thermistor spar, navigation, meteorology, sea surface temperature (from both thermistor probe and radiometer), XBT, CTD and shipborne ADCP. Data were collected by the Applied Oceanography Section of the Sonar Performance Division at DRA, Portland. Thermistor chain, thermistor spar, sea surface temperature (from thermistor probe and radiometer), navigation and meteorology data are stored in the DRA archive system and have been processed to the DRA standard MIDAS user data file format. These data have been screened for format and data errors and corrected to produce a 'clean' data set. The XBT and ADCP data are also stored in the division archive in MIDAS format, but screening has not been completed. The CTD data are stored in the division archive; some have been converted to the MIDAS format but, as yet, none have been screened.
