Data set information
| Query EDMED |
General | |
Data holding centre | Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research |
Country | United Kingdom |
Time period | Not specified |
Ongoing | Yes |
Geographical area | Global |
Observations | |
Parameters | Air pressure; Air temperature; Atmospheric humidity; Wind strength and direction; Temperature of the water column; Heat fluxes between the water column and the atmosphere; Long-wave radiation |
Instruments | Anemometers; meteorological packages; water temperature sensor |
Description | |
Summary | The data set comprises 4 x 5 degree grid fields associated with the heat balance of the global earth oceans. These include surface wind speed, sea surface temperature, sea-air temperature difference, air temperature, specific humidity, sea-air specific humidity difference, sea level pressure, net upward long wave flux, latent heat flux, sensible heat flux and net downward heat flux. Monthly and annual mean fields are included. The data are held in PP format. |
