Description
Summary

During summer 1991, an important survey has been conducted in the seas surrounding Italy. The research has been carried out by OGS in the framework of the National Programme CROP sponsored by the Italian National Research Council (CNR), AGIP SpA and ENEL. The main scientific target was the collection of a very large amount of seismic and geophysical data in the deepest layers of the Earth's crust. The most interesting characteristic of this survey was the use of a 4500 m long streamer and of a powerful seismic source. The dataset has been complemented by some recordings made also on land, by means of a multi-channel seismic spread, of part of the lines shot by the vessel. During the campaign a total amount of 3,410 km was covered along 28 lines. The seismic data have been collected with the following sampling parameters: Coverage = 4500 % Sample Rate = 4 ms Shot Interval = 50 m Streamer Length = 4500 m Streamer Depth = 12 m Group Interval = 25 m Number of Groups = 180 Record Length = 17-40 sec Air-Guns: - Total Volume = 80 l - Pressure = 140 bar - Depth = 6 m
